Wanderlust & NYC dreaming

new york travel ideas for a short city vacation
Over the last few years I have become more eager to want to see the world  - I have been on quite a few city breaks and I've loved all of them, but I keep thinking more and more about how I'd love to see even more unexplored areas of this world. "A strong desire or urge to wander or travel and explore the world." - yep I am truly wanderlust.
However, right now I am looking forward to my next city vacation. This time I am off to the ultimate city destination, in my opinion, New York!! And to say that I am excited would be an understatement!

Even though it is now only two weeks away until we fly out, it feels like I have been waiting a lifetime - I have wanted to go for as long as I can remember and now that day is finally approaching I couldn't be happier. I have saved and dreamt of going to NYC for what feels like a lifetime and I just know it's going to live up to each and every one of my expectations.

I am currently piecing together a rough itinerary as I want to maximise the time we have there and try to see and do as much as possible! I have found using pinterest a godsend; it's so easy to bring together lots of travel tips and ideas, places to see and things to do, and my favourite - where to eat! You can see my board so far here.
I still need lots more ideas, and I need your help! I want to hear from any of you who have been to NYC or even better those of you who live there, please leave a comment and let me know what I mustn't miss in NYC.

H&M Little Black Dress

LBD gorgeousness from H&M with a full skirt
LBD from H&M with cute monochrome accessories and barely there heels
H&M little black dress is so cute
beautiful monochrome accessories to compliment a black dress
Little Black Dress / H&M
Bag / H&M
Heels / New Look
Watch / Michael Kors

It's been a while since I found a great versatile little black dress, but when I tried on this gorgeous number in H&M I knew I had found a great item. I think this collared dress is a perfect mix of preppy chic and girly glam. You could team with brogues and a satchel for a casual daytime look, or with heels and simple accessories - as I have done here - for a great evening outfit. I wore this out for a nice dinner with my boyfriend, Eric.
I felt really girly wearing this dress; the pleated, bell shaped, skirt gives great volume and makes the dress feel very Marilyn Monroe-esque. The cut-out sides also add that little extra sex-appeal whilst keeping the overall look classy. I feel like I'm onto a winner here! The dress was only £34.99 which I feel is really reasonable for a timeless item.
